FF7 Northern Crater RPG는 파이널 판타지 7의 마지막 전투를 스타크래프트 브루드워 유즈맵 형식으로 재구성한 RPG 맵이다. 맵은 화산 타일셋을 사용해 거대한 크기(6144×6144)와 복잡한 지형을 제공한다. 플레이어는 최대 6명까지 동시에 참여할 수 있으며, 각자는 파티원 역할을 맡아 세피로스와 제노바를 물리치는 최종 전투에 집중한다. 전투는 주로 스토리 기반 퀘스트와 이벤트 트리거로 진행되며, 적군은 강력한 보스와 다수의 소규모 적 유닛이 혼합된 형태로 등장한다. 전투 중에는 특정 지역을 점령하거나 아이템을 획득해야 하는 목표가 주어지며, 이를 통해 플레이어는 스킬 업그레이드와 유닛 생산을 관리한다. 전반적인 진행 방식은 전통적인 RPG와 비슷하게 퀘스트 진행, 전투, 보스전 순으로 이루어지며, 맵 내부에 배치된 대화 상자와 텍스트 로그를 통해 스토리를 파악한다. 게임 경험이 풍부한 유저라면 스토리와 전투의 조화를 즐길 수 있지만, 초보자에게는 복잡한 트리거와 대규모 전투가 다소 난해할 수 있다. 플레이 전에는 팀 구성과 각자의 역할을 사전에 논의하고, 보스 전투에 대비해 유닛과 스킬을 충분히 준비하는 것이 좋다.
FF7 Northern Crater RPG is a user-made StarCraft: Brood War map that recreates the final battle of Final Fantasy VII in RPG style. The map uses a volcanic tileset and features a massive size (6144×6144) with intricate terrain. Up to six players can join simultaneously, each taking on a party member role to focus on defeating Sephiroth and Jenova in the climactic showdown. The battle progresses mainly through story-driven quests and event triggers, with enemies ranging from powerful bosses to numerous smaller units. During the fight, players must capture specific areas or collect items, which allow them to upgrade skills and produce units. Overall, the flow resembles a traditional RPG: quest progression, regular combat, then the boss encounter, while in‑map dialogue boxes and text logs convey the story. Experienced players can enjoy the blend of narrative and combat, but newcomers may find the complex triggers and large‑scale battles challenging.
