데저트 스트라이크 레볼루션은 스타크래프트 브루드워 유즈맵 역사상 가장 유명한 '밀고 당기기(Tug of War)' 장르인 데저트 스트라이크의 개선판이다. 황혼 타일셋의 96×96 타일 맵에서 6인 플레이가 가능하며, 세 종족의 유닛을 생산해 중앙 전장으로 자동 진격시키는 방식이다. 플레이어는 자원 관리와 유닛 조합, 업그레이드 타이밍만 조절하면 되고 직접 컨트롤은 필요 없어 초보자도 쉽게 진입할 수 있다. vF 버전은 원작의 밸런스를 다듬고 신규 유닛·업그레이드를 추가해 전략 폭을 넓혔다. 팀 단위 협력이 핵심이므로 3:3 팀전으로 즐기기 적합하며, 한 판에 20~40분 내외로 마무리된다. 고전 데저트 스트라이크의 향수를 느끼고 싶거나, 복잡한 마이크로 없이 매크로·전략 판단만으로 승부하고 싶은 유저에게 추천한다. 플레이 전 종족별 핵심 유닛 상성과 업그레이드 트리만 숙지하면 바로 실전에 투입할 수 있다.
